Eight years ago, sisters Carla and Christine Pallotta decided to make a professional career move that would change their lives forever. The two opened Nebo Restaurant on the edge of the North End, and it grew to become one of the most beloved restaurants in the area. Last year, the sisters decided it was time to move and revamp Nebo, which gave them the opportunity to create an all-new restaurant that is their dream space. Now located on Atlantic Wharf, Nebo is set to open this summer and will amaze longtime patrons with what the sisters have done to the new space.
The 180-seat restaurant evokes a minimalist feel that features custom oversized mirrors and eight layers of Venetian plaster covering the walls. The new Nebo’s prized possession is definitely its impressive bar area that puts almost all other bars in the city to shame and offers an extensive specialty drink and wine list.
The sisters are maintaining their old approach when it comes to staffing and training their employees. “There is no executive chef here. We are training everyone who works in the kitchen to know how to do everything back there, from baking our in-house bread to making fresh pasta and executing the line,” said Carla. There have also been a few additions to the menu, including the ever-popular branzino that was only offered as a special in the past.
