How do you suggest transitioning your face from summer to fall?
With fall here, there are some basics that everyone needs, #1 is skincare. It is necessary to adjust you skincare for fall. A great product to help you transition is the M-61 Power Glow Peel ($62 for 30 treatments). Using this peel 2-3 times a week after cleansing at night will help exfoliate away the summer sun and prepare your skin for the cooler fall temperatures. #2 is foundation. Having a flawless face is easy with the new Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide ($48). Laura’s new foundation blurs the line between real skin and makeup. # 3 is color. Once you’re fresh faced and ready to go, throw on softer nude or mauve lip colors and incorporate more jewel toned shadows and liners into your makeup wardrobe.
Are there any fall color palettes that you recommend?
Some beautiful palettes to start the fall season with are the new NARS Narssisst Smokey Eye kit ($59) or the Bobbi Brown Nude Smokey Eye Palette ($65). It has a collection of 8 neutral shades, both matte and shimmer, that can take your look from day to night. Another amazing trend for fall is having a strong lip color with no eye shadow – just mascara and eyeliner – like the Parisians! We love Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth lip color in Merlot, Sienna and Red Amour.
What are some easy to wear colors or products that compliment everyone’s skin tone?
Some products that are sure to compliment everyone’s cosmetic wardrobe for fall are a blush, eyeliner and great hair products! We have the answer for all three. NARS has a phenomenal new blush, Unlawful, which has a rosy-brown hue, perfect for every skin tone ($30). We feel the same about the Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eye-liner which comes in 15 different shades and is a must have for fall ($24). And last but not least a great shampoo and conditioner for fall to repair and restore any damage from the summer sun is the Oribe Gold Lust. The Oribe Gold Lust shampoo and conditioner is great for color safe and heat-treated hair and a no brainier for everyone’s hair for fall ($49).
What are some trends for fall and how do you suggest incorporating the trends into someone’s look?
Smokey neutrals with jewel-toned accents are definitely trending for fall. The best way to achieve this look is by sticking to neutral shades on the lid, but using deep plums, greens and navy blues along the lash line. Another quick way to your fall look is via your nails. Some fun new nail polish colors to try are Purple Rain, Dark Room and Shutter by NARS ($20). Deborah Lippmann’s New York inspired nail colors Take the “A” Train, Harlem Nocturne and Autumn in New York are soft, metallic shades that keep nails on trend for fall ($20).
